Under the Politics tab, the Safe Again portion of the posts are completed. Now it is time to Make the City Grow Again. It's just one more step to Making Saint Louis Great Again.
Construction could begin by the end of the year or early next year on Phase 2 of the Boulevard project in Brentwood. A rendering released today shows a project similar to design as the first phase of the project. This 2nd Phase leaves out the Burger King portion of the site which is to become Phase 3 in the future. Expect to see construction begin on this project in February.

So far this September, development news has been off the charts for the city of Saint Louis. In fact, we are reaching historic highs in the City Limits as new projects are announced and get underway. It is truly a great time to witness the change coming to the city. This Friday Review will share a summary of the projects that have been announced, AND BELIEVE US, there is lots to cover.
- Sansone Group Hill Project
This project would require the demolition of the partially burnt warehouse that is across the street from Rigazzis Italian Restaurant. This $40 Million would boast retail spots and 450 Residential Units. It replaces the larger plan for the site that was shot down by the neighborhood association. But this plan is much better. We hope to see it begin by mid-next year.
- SSM Health St. Louis University Hospital
This new hospital project would add to the growing number of campus renewal projects in the City Limits. The new SSM Hospital would be a big change to the Grand Boulevard and the Midtown area. Construction and full plans should be released next year with some renderings should and construction starts by 2018.
- Prominent Vacant Lot in The Grove
This Prominent vacant lot in the Grove for a request from the City a couple of months ago. The ideas brought up on the triangle shaped wedge include retail, residential and parking. The buildings proposed range in height from 5-7 floors. So more mid rise than high rise. More details will be released before the end of the year for sure and we can expect to see construction on this project begin by mid to late next year.
- City Foundry Food Hall and Shopping Center
As I said in the previous post, more details are getting out about the new development that will have high rises, shops and a food hall. This development will have its first phase (food hall and shopping street center) completed by 2018 and phase 2 (highrises and more shops) will be completed in 2020. The price tag for the full project is $340 Million but because of high rises, I am going to push the final price tag in 2020 to about $500 Million.
And that concludes this Friday Review. The project page will be updated to reflect the projects announced in this post.
