Do you or someone you know want to stay the night in a hotel room across the street from the team store at Busch Stadium? If you answered yes to this question, you may have the opportunity to do so by Fall 2019. In a press release by Loews Hotels at 9 A.M. Central Time, plans for the $65 Million Live! By Loews Hotel were released. Plans call for the building to be 8 floors high and be situated at the corner of 8th and Clark and be part of the Phase 2 Development.
The Loews Hotel is also a significant piece in Downtown St. Louis revitalization. It will be the one hotel that will stick out among the 6 other proposed or underway hotels even though it will be 8 floors tall. The reason? Because Loews is quite picky on where they go. Most of the time, they choose city's that are booming or have a high tourism count. St. Louis classifies as a "booming" city and having Loews come and join in on our revitalization really should make us feel good.
Coming in at 216 Hotel Rooms, the Live! By Loews - St. Louis Hotel will bring a modern twist on what a luxury hotel is. It is not your normal boutique hotel that we see popping up around Downtown. Loews Hotels are different and are designed to promote a good life style in a simple environment. It is what makes them unique. Special amenities coming with this hotel are as follows...
The Hotel is part of the $260 Million Ballpark Village Phase 2 Project. The Project will include a 30 Floor, Luxury Apartment Building at Clark and Broadway featuring 300 units. In the middle of the project, a two floor entertainment building will rise with a ground floor grocery store. 7th Street will be connected to Clark as part of this project and then the first Office Building built in Downtown since 1989 will rise directly behind the Loews Hotel, on the same block. That building will feature 117,000 square feet of office space. The main tenant for the office portion is PricewaterhouseCooper (PwC) who will announce their moving in the coming weeks.
Construction is expected to start on the whole of Phase 2 in December and wrap up 20 months later in 2019.
