Ever Heard of the Hotel Jefferson in Downtown Saint Louis? It was a hotel that was active from 1904-1976. It went trough many owners during its time. Here are the Notable ones. Hilton, and Sheraton. It reopened on 1978 as the Jefferson Arms Elderly Home. And that lasted from 1978-2006. In that same year, a group proposed to change the building into condos. However that failed and now it sits empty as one of the largest buildings in the city with a lot of potential. It is forgotten about. A piece of the Cities History now forgotten into the back of the City citizens heads. It needs a new plan to preserve it and I have a great idea on my "Envisioning a New Saint Louis" idea.
The Hotel Jefferson needs to undergo a major renovation. The outside would need to be done first then the inside. Outside changes would include...
1- New Windows
2. Cleaned off Exterior Walls
3- New Sidewalks
4- New Streetlights
5- New Entrances
The inside would be completely redone and be brought back to its original beauty. This would include...
1- New Fancy Elevators
2- Restoration of the Marble on Walls
3- Restoration of Chandeliers
4- Renovation of the Ballrooms
5- New Rooftop Party Deck
The Main change to the building would the largest change in a building in Downtown Saint Louis. It would include this.
Together all of these things would make the building a very useful piece of property in the city. If done, I believe it would be very valuable. It would make the city look good and the downtown area look nicer. This is what I have planned. Now it is time to get this sent to the city office.
Below are images of the building good and bad.
