Today, the verdict in the Stockley trial came out as not guilty at 9 AM. In a city that was already on edge from the Ferguson riots, this verdict from this case made our situation worse. St. Louis already has a fragile image as it is, and this situation makes it worse, a lot worse. St. Louis is now draped in misery as the newest round of Anti-Police protests take place. This time, centered around Central West End, the trendy area of the City that has seen a ton of growth over the past decade or so, this could all very well come to a halt as these protests taint the neighborhood.
As seen in the opening video, Fox 2 News reporter Dan Gray, came face to face with protesters who are clearly angry at him for being a media member and for being white. According to him, it was the scariest moment in his media career. However, this isn't the first time this sort of thing has happened. During the Ferguson riots, Dan Gray was yelled at by protesters for telling them not to touch the camera. A reasonable request that protesters did not like, at all. But, the Stockley trial has presented a new level of hate against others as seen below.
Around 7 PM, protesters moved to Euclid in Central West End and many protesters blocked the street. Following this, they moved to Forest Park Parkway and then Kingshighway and then tried to access the highway. Police Officers blocked the entrances to the highway but the crowds did not care. They continued to protest until moving back to Euclid. This is where it gets dangerous. Crowds met up at Maryland Plz. and Euclid. the attendance was well over 1000 people as seen in the photo below.
From here, the whole situation spun downward to where protesters moved up to Mayor Lyda Krewson's Home. Protesters, by this time, they were agitators, got to Mayor Krewson's house and broke two windows and vandalized it with red paint. Agitators chanted "wake up Lyda" at the house. This is clear craziness as the Mayor, just hours earlier, voiced her disapproval of the not guilty verdict. Clearly her opinion did not matter. Many say that the Mayor was at a different location at the time. Following this, the remainder of the crowd that remained peaceful dispersed but 20 bad people stayed behind breaking numerous laws and endangering the lives of others.
The agitators began to break other houses windows and busting in car windows on cars parked in the street for the hell of it. Furthermore, they threw bricks at Cops. This is not right. Meanwhile, Twitter supporters who support this protest say that they want the freedom to kill cops in return for every black male killed by cops. They also want ultimate destruction done to police departments. Black Lives Matter members are slowly becoming homegrown terrorists whose mission is to terrorize others who do not agree with what they agree with. If this is the case, what is the poi t in having "Freedom of Expression" anymore?
Surprisingly, local events like the U2 Concert, Taste of St. Louis and the Forest Park Balloon Race will go on as scheduled. Security is likely to be higher.
At this time, St. Louis is further divided and our national image has been shattered once again. As seen in the gallery below, Tweets and images showcasing the events of the 15th are featured. Some call for violence while others are images of crowds and damage. One is a video of three young Black Lives Matter supporters jumping on a police car earlier on the day. Below the Gallery is my opinion on the events of today.
While protesters have the right to protest, they must do it peacefully! The events that have taken place were not peaceful, these were on the verge of riots. They were executed by agitators, criminals and thugs. These were and are not nice people. While I understand what they want, they are not going to get their way by doing actions that make them look like crybabies. Vandalism is not the answer. Furthermore, businesses are trying to profit off of this event by putting a "Black Lives Matter" sign in the window in hopes of drawing new clients. It is utterly wrong.
To the parents who think that bringing your young children to these events is a good thing, you people are wrong. You are endangering your child and raising them in an atmosphere of horror. Let them grow u being innocent instead of trying to educate them on issues that they could care less about at their age. On the issue of Schools and businesses closing. They are cowardice. By closing, you openly succumb to the protesters plan. That is wrong.
Finally, to the cowards who hide behind masks and threaten lives of Police Officers, you are the ultimate scum of the earth. If you have to hide, why even come out at all? You are terrorists whose goal is to change the opinions of other people so that you can benefit. That is not what "Justice" is. Justice is when your asses are locked up for looting, destroying property and threatening cops lives.
