A project that will be built by Greenstreet Group and be connected to the Foundry Project across Interstate 64. The project is being designed by Arcturis Architecture Group. The plan is to offer Office Space that the Region has never seen before. The original plan was to convert the space into a Entertainment Center with Residential and a Hotel Coming in the Future.
Now the plan has the complex being just Office Space and a Hotel with a underground Parking Garage (Hotel and Garage coming at a later date) from the looks of the Renderings. As I said earlier, the plan for the Armory is to have it connect to the Foundry project across Interstate 64 via a bridge that goes in between the 2 decks of the double decker highway. All together, both projects will add a substantial amount of Office and Retail space to the Midtown Region once both projects are fully built out within the next 6 years.
The Armory couldn't survive as anything else since the Highway cut it off from the rest of the street grid. The plan details the return of a more noticeable grid to get people to the project.
The Restoration and Repurposing Project is expected to cost $83 Million and I am predicting it will be open and completed by 2020
The Armory used to be a 138th Missouri Infantry- Missouri National Guard Armory that used to hold some weapons and house soldiers. The main hall of the building is a gymnasium room with seating for people to watch whatever that used to go on in the hall. The rest of the building though was offices and storage space. It was completed in 1935 according to GreenStreet Group.
