Today, news got out about the ambitions to build a 7 Floor, Element Hotel by Westin across the street from the under construction Foundry Project. The Foundry Project, for background, will be a mixed use neighborhood comprised of Residential, Office, Retail and a Food Hall. It will open in 2018. But the meaning of this article is the Planned Hotel.
Planned for the former Headquarters of Habitat Humanity, The Hotel will add to the ever changing Forest Park Parkway-Vandeventer area of Midtown. The $24 Million project will bring around 150 Rooms to the area and add to the Urban Streetscape of Forest Park Avenue. Upon Completion in 2018, if goes as planned, it will be another key part in this regions revitalization.
More information will be available soon
UPDATE: The Element Building will have 10,000 square feet of street level retail space facing Forest Park Avenue. That in itself is a huge plus for the modern-urban feel that this region will have. The large building in the lower right of the overall image of the area is an unannounced building to our understanding. We will probably learn more about it as the new week comes in.
